PRESS RELEASE

LES FRICTION LAUNCHES IT’S DEBUT SINGLE “TORTURE”

Les Friction Cover Art

What do Queen’s Brian May, Harry Potter & Nic Harcourt have in common? Les Friction ….. Brian May says “NOBODY, but NOBODY, out there, is doing stuff like Les Friction is doing. Nobody dares!” Nic Harcourt simply states “EPIC!” and selected the first single “Torture” as his #1 song of 2011. And finally, Les Friction’s tune “Louder Than Words” spearheaded the marketing campaign for Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows Pt 2 which became the #1 OPENING BOX OFFICE FILM of all time.

Les Friction cannot be described…. it must be heard to be understood. A neo-classical rock band with roots reaching deep back into iconic bands like ELO, AC/DC and Queen but equally grounded in current bands like Muse, Radiohead and Coldplay.

This isn’t music for the faint of heart. You will LOSE YOUR BREATH listening…. and when you think it can’t get more EPIC and INTENSE, it will. So grab your best headphones, turn off the lights and take the ride of your life…. this is Les Friction (pronounced “less”).

I hope that there will be another Les Friction album!
    Or even 1 song! Please!

    You are the best one.

  2. Alison Freebairn-Smith says:

I heard “Torture” on KCSN, today, and thought it was Rufus Wainwright, who is one of my favorites. Really refreshing to hear such complex and thoughtful music and to hear it getting airplay at a time when there is such an extreme lack of such on the airwaves. Can’t wait to hear the other tracks.

  3. Dobermac says:

When will the next album be coming out? A guess would be enough for me. I can’t wait!

  4. Panache says:

Hmm I’m curious I just noticed on this page this line: “If you’d like more information about Les Friction or to schedule an interview, please email Calvin Sondheim at calvin@lesfriction.com. ”

Possible name for this “paint” guy? A quick google search of the name shows he was the manager of ESP perhaps it is only in les friction that they have used his voice?

Calvin and Paint are two different people. If Calvin could sing we’d all be in trouble. Thanks for your inquiry!

  8. MK says:

Music like this can only come from another dimension!. But it surely also needed a lot of effort and hard work on this one. Congratulations!

  11. Noel says:

    Absolutely brilliant!
I think you could write an incredible 007 theme.

  12. Greg says:

Excellent collaboration into this new transition, this whatever it may be. Paint, nice work.

  13. RicharD says:

I had heard of the loss to the Vonlichten family/friends last year and was sadened by the news. And much like the rousing emotion their music has and continues to evoke in me; I was very glad to hear that that efforts were underway for a new beginning. Now that you have arrived, I am overjoyed at what you all have been able to bring to our world. Thank you.

  14. Kevin says:

The still mysterious “Paint” is absolutely amazing. Would love to know the full name of paint…

  15. Małgorzata Mika says:

I’ve been a stout admirer of your music written under the aegis of E.S. Posthumus, and now, I’m keeping my fingers crossed for your new projects. I truly believe that with the talent of those of you who I already know from E.S. Posthumus, and some fresh talents, you will be able to reach a position E.S. Posthumus has enjoyed so far. Good luck on the road less travelled by ;).

  16. Jacob says:

Great! Now we know a little more about whats been happening. Paint is awesome!
